Wishcasting...

What do you wish to create?

I wish to create a stable and harmonic life with Edu and the kitties.
I wish to create life. Not now, someday.
I wish to create a better mood in my family, to help them forget their worries. I wish to create a worry-free mood.
I wish to create a deeper and more intimate relationship with Edu.
I wish to create a sparkle in my students. Something that makes them want to know more, learn more, and be better persons.
And I wish to create something, anything, that will make others smile.

You can be a maker of magic and a tender of wishes. It’s easy. Answer the wish prompt on your blog and then add a direct link to your post in the box [at the link] below. Support wishes by visiting other participants, leaving a comment saying “As (insert name) wishes for her/himself, so I wish for her/him also.” It’s that simple. There is great power in wishing together.

My holiday wishlist!

I saw this on many friends' LJs so I will play this too...

Step One

* Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

* If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

* Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two

* Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals, or holiday_wishes/wish_list) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

So here are my wishes...
  • My biggest wish is just that you truly and deeply wish me good luck in getting the flat we love. Good energy, good luck rituals, amulets or just good thoughts... anything will make me super happy.
  • Something cute to decorate my new flat (as so many people will wish us good luck, I'm bound to get it, hehehe!). It can be something tiny, a small figurine, a wall decal, a nice artistic photo... anything really!
  • Anything from my Etsy favourites. Or similar to it. If it's there, I love it!
  • Anything that is handmade by you. I treasure unique things that are handmade.
  • Anything with owls. My totem animal. I adore them!
  • Make a small donation or some volunteer work for your closest animal shelter.
  • Make a Random Act of Kindness for someone. Anyone. Make someone smile and then tell me about it.
  • Do you have tiny rings that you can't wear? Both my mum and me have tiny fingers, we both love rings, and we can't find small rings so we would love to give them a home.
  • Postcards for my mum.
  • Second hand books. About anything really. I love reading and even if you send me one that is not my style, I teach English and pass them on to my older students who can't find books in English in this area.
So that's all really. Thanks for looking at my list and now I'm off to check other lists. Spread the smiles!

Thanks to Marta!!!

I know how to do that userpics thing! =D YAY!!!

Melancholic rivers for the tired.

I have an obsession with mixed cds. I have a lot for different moods: cheery songs, sad songs, angry songs, and melancholic songs. I was listening to the last one today. I don't know why but everytime I am tired I love listening to that cd. And as it's still hot here, I can't sleep properly and I'm tired so I gave it a go.
It still amazes me how one song in particular still touches me: Bruce Springsteen's 'The River'. I was almost in tears while I was hearing that today and I have heard that a thousand times already!
I wonder if that happens to you too... Is there a song that always gives you a certain feeling no matter how many times you've heard it?

I've been babysitting my cousin's kids today. They are lovely but also VERY active, they're a handful! In the end we were watching Garfield and I managed to have them sitting on the sofa for almost 20 minutes, LOL!

I have been good and written almost all my letters by now. YAY for me! I really want to have my mail up to date for when I start working again, and the day is getting closer!

I wish you all a great day!

It never rains but it pours...

These things really annoy me...

1. I don't get a letter in one whole week. And then: surprise! Today I find my mailbox bursting with 21 (!!!!!!!!) letters and a couple of postcrossing postcards. ARGH!!! How am I supposed to answer them all now?

2. I've been weeks without meeting a couple of friends and more than one month since I last saw my dear friend Meritxell. Now of course, the day we are supposed to celebrate Mari Carmen's hen's night; she will be here in Reus. It is the 5th time this year (I am counting them, really) that we can't meet. And she lives in Barcelona and is busy and... Bah, I miss her lots! =(

3. I need to spend 460€ in a vaccine. Plain as it sounds. It's crazy that such an important vaccine has to be so expensive. If it wasn't for my parents, I wouldn't be able to get it in years. I will be getting it and return them the money little by little. *sigh*

I wonder if it's my anxiety coming back because of the nerves of the new school year, but I really feel a bit down lately. Sorry, just needed to let it all out. Feeling better now! =)

Guess I should go and answer some letters now...!
